Java Wood is a rich, dry, woody, earthy celebration of the bold vetiver that floats between the volcanic heat and rice fields on the island of Java in Indonesia. Bergamot, pepper and cumin add a little zest, and tobacco adds a bit of warmth to the woodiness. Look out for the interesting hint of licorice at the top.
From Mélanie Leroux
The little way sinks at the heart of the island. Rice terraces overlook the landscape. Its volcanic heat is suddenly flying away, letting the humidity of this green wood takes its place. As a simple grass bouquet, its humility seizes me. Its roots shape deeply infinite labyrinths under my feet. While closing my eyes, I am transported by this woody essence. The Wood from Java. Evasive and audacious.”
